What is micro-needling?
Natural Face Aesthetics recommends the Derma FNS® micro-needling device when it comes to micro-needling. The Derma FNS® uses a specially designed and patented micro-needling device, each single use cartridge contains 12 ultra-fine sterile needles that are simply injected into the skin. This leads to a series of small punctures some surface bleeding. We work closely with SkinMed who distribute the Derma FNS®. We regularly use this pen as part of the Enerpeel protocols to boost treatments post acne, on deep pigmentation and also on lines wrinkles and stretch marks.
The small channels created by the needles are like wounds. Just as every wound sets the healing process of the body into motion, these injuries also stimulate the collagen formation process of the skin. Micro-needling the skin is a way of reminding the body to restart the collagen and elastin production process, which then leads to the formation of a new layer of skin which is thicker and smoother than before.
What can micro-needling treat?
Micro-needling is ideal for treating: fine lines, wrinkles, surgical, acne and trauma scars, stretch marks and pigmentation.
The DermaFNS® technology is safer and more effective in piercing the skin than traditional skin needling pens or rollers and is ideal for getting into those harder to reach areas like around the eyes. With its adjustable cartridge depths, it insures the right amount of pressure is effectively applied to the epidermis.

Is there any down time?
This is determined by the depth of needling treatment or area/s treated. Usually, the down time is very minimal with some redness immediately post treatment. Most redness will subside after 6 hours -12 hours.
How many treatments will I need?
To optimize the benefits the typical treatment regimen will consist of a minimum of 3 treatments with a separation time between treatments of at least 4-6 weeks.
How long will it take?
Typically, each treatment will take around 45 minutes
Can I fly after treatment?
Yes after 12 hours (or sooner with approval at the time of treatment)
Can I go to the gym after treatment?
No – wait 12 hrs
Can I drink alcohol after treatment?
No – wait 12 hrs
Does it hurt?
Some patients may experience some mild discomfort during the treatment. Occasionally we use numbing cream for those more sensitive to pain. Please ask.
How long will the effects last?
Within several days to several weeks you will notice a smoother, brighter, and more radiant appearance, however, the full effects of the treatment do not appear until several months later.
